This blog is dedicated to facilitating and interactive critique modality for the Brazilian chapbook tradition that I refer to primarily as the "folheto" (a little book) or "literatura popular nordestina" (Northeastern Popular Literature). Here I will post images found through research, YouTube videos that are revolutionizing this art and my own comments, meant to encourage your participation! As a popular form of oral and written poetic verse, the folheto tradition is experiencing renewed relevance due to its adaptation to the age of technology: now rather than being recited aloud for crowds, it is recorded and disseminated throughout the world by YouTube.
